The Spartans came out, and did what they needed and were expected to do and beat the Wild Cats. PERIOD. Plain and simple.  Story of two half’s… A defensive battle in the first half, then the Spartans came out and thumped them.

Cream starting to rise to the top:
Greg Jones: 2 sacks, 14 tackles, 2 TFL
Eric Gordon:  1 sack, 14 tackles, 2 TFL
Kirk Cousins:  281 yrds passing
Blair White: 2TDs, 186 yrds.
Sacked NW  4 times… gave up ZERO sacks…

Unfortunately, it was a tune up for a much more important game, the Game against Iowa.  SpartyMSU has forecasted this to be the toughest game of the year, and has all the potential to be our Waterloo.  Still think Spartans can beat everyone left on the schedule.. now that they seemed to have found their identity...



We must scheme our way through this tilt… The Team will have to execute, and Dantonio has to have his best plan of the year...

Originally we had expected the Spartans to be 7 – 0, by the time we reached this point in the season, but, obviously, we came off the tracks early, but the Spartan ship has been righted and headed in the right direction.

The Spartans and the Hawkeyes are very similar programs.. I think the Spartans have better QB, Receivers, RB, and LBs.. But have to give the nod to Iowa for both lines.

Iowa did show some grit when they went into Happy Valley and beat JoePa 21-10.  Other than that they seem to have been lucky to escape with very close wins. Michigan is not that good of a team, and they almost beat Iowa, in Iowa 30-28, close call against Arkansas State 24 -21..

Ricky Stanzi has been sacked 15 times, the Spartan QB only 6. 
But.. I still think theses big corn fed Iowa boys are a little bigger and get a bigger push…

Cousins has a Passing percentage of 64%, and Stanzi 59%...  And don't forget those Stanzi Balls....

This is going to be a Hard nose.. smash mouth football game.. No doubt.  But not the Spartan's  Waterloo….
