In a nut shell.. MSU was the better team. The Spartan #1s blew the doors off of Jacksonville, and the Spartan #2/#3s used it as practice.  Mark Dantonio could have hung 70+ on Jacksonville State, but he is not of the Urban Meyer / Saban / Steve Spurrier  ilk…

Connor Cook had 3 TD touchdowns in the First half, The first one was a 64yard strike to Lippet… 5 of the first 6 possessions ended in scores for the Spartans, and the only missed opportunity of those was a missed field goal…  No Penalties in the first half, 4 years ago that would have been unheard of.. and now.. what a change in the culture..

No Turn overs for MSU by the #1s… Jacksonville’s first 7 possessions ended in 5 punts and 2 interceptions..  The Spartans were committed and focused..

All in all, the Spartans look impressive in all phases of the game.. Dantonio using the second half as a learning experience for the rest of the team, was a wise choice..

Now on to Oregon..  We will review that game in the next post…

Sparty On !!
